Good morning all!  Happy Veterans Day too!  I want to take a moment to thank all military, past and present, for your sacrifice and dedication to our country. While we mow our yards, go see a movie, play with our children and run through Starbucks for our favorite cup of coffee, you are away from your friends and family defending every right we hold dear.  Thank you more than words can say.
It's been a busy weekend for me art wise. I did have some home projects I had to get done, but did manage to get some art in too!  I started this one...Fruits of the Spirit...and think it turned out super cool!
Of course I started with my pencil sketch and first ink:
Then I moved on to my watercolor wash....then I noticed something....eh oh

Yeah, I spelled Galatians wrong.  Shucks...well, it made me change my design a bit and it's proof that everyone messes up...especially artists. Sometimes figuring out how to fix a problem is part of the process.

I redesigned it and moved the Galatians 5:22-23 to the top and made it work.  I think it turned out good even though I messed up in the process. Lesson for the day: Spelling check should be done BEFORE inking.

If you are interested in this print, you can contact me at artoflifephoto@aol.com.  Size is 8x10 and they are $15 each.
I hope you all have a super day and look for more art to come!  Working on another one..."I love you to the moon and back"

WOW...Halloween and a sick little boy have really kept me out of the studio lately. Sorry!  I'm back and getting geared up for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I had a blast creating our family Halloween costumes this year.  Here is a pic of us...Steampunk style:

It's one of my favorite holidays because it is something we do together as a family. The boys really racked up on the candy too!

Now, on to some art stuff. I like to switch up every now and then to different mediums. I am doing some Pen and Ink with Watercolor right now.  I have a couple of in progress shots followed by the finished piece.  Here is the first step. I drew the design, applied the first ink and then the watercolor wash.

Next I complete the wash in watercolor and begin the detail process.

And here is the finished piece. It took appx 5-5 1/2hrs.  I think it turned out just perfect.

Working on another pen & ink with watercolor and can't wait to share the WIP (work in progress) with you on my next blog!
Have a super day...it's almost the weekend!
